The VMI Alumni Association works closely with the VMI Admission Office and the Office of Communication and Marketing in scheduling the new cadet recruiting events across Virginia and as far away as California. These are open to prospective cadets and their families; local alumni are also invited to attend. The contact person is John J. Wranek III ’85, VP/NCR. You can reach him at 800-444-1839, ext 229. Click on the links for more information and register if you want to attend. (Note to the weary — about the time VMI moved to its new web site, the Alumni Association web services became V-E-R-Y S-L-O-W, so have patience.) Also, for those of us outside Virginia, there are several opportunities to participate in local high school college fairs in your area. Just go to the Admission portion of the VMI web site, click on your state, and a list of planned visits are there. Admissions usually sends one person from VMI, but often they need a little help, especially at the larger ones. Give John Wranek a call if you would like to help out. (PS — it’s a lot more fun than it sounds.)
